Bird Rescue

Hi there, thought it was about time I blogged again.

This time the card I've decided to show you is one I made for the friendly challenge we have over at My Craft Studio Platinum Club. The challenge was to design a card that had a key theme  and this is my offering.

I recently purchased the MCS TSV on QVC and decided that, as I hadn't used any of it yet, now was the perfect time. The diecut birdcages were my inspiration for this one and after lots of browsing the CD I decided on the pink and brown colour scheme.

I picked a lovely pink backing paper and matted and layered it on pink card and brown card. Next I made up my topper using a few images from the CD and also matted it onto brown card and put it to one side. The diecut birdcage was white so I coloured it and the heart doily ( from Wild Orchid Crafts ) with Versacolor in pinecone and then used clear embossing powder for a glossy finish.

I then assembled the card and finished it off with pins ( coloured with promarker to match ), a sentiment ( also from the CD ) and some flowers - these are a free download from MCS and can be found here. Now the only question is - has he got the right key to rescue his true love or will he have to keep trying.

Hope you like it, I'd love to hear your comments

Enjoy your day

A xx
